The Sewerage Master Plan and Feasibility Study for the Marikina River Basin Project are among the sewerage and sanitation initiatives under the Manila Third Sewerage Project. The Master Plan integrates all the components of the MTSP. The Marikina River has been declared biologically dead, and its rehabilitation presents a high probability of success as it offers available riverbanks that may be used as wastewater treatment plant sites. The sewerage master plan and rehabilitation of the Marikina River can serve as catalyst for effecting change in mindsets and cleaning up other critical river basins in the metropolis and the country.
